Information about our campsite

Dear Sir/Madam,

Firstly we would like to thank you for the interest you have shown in our camp-site and we are delighted to give you some information concerning the camp-site and its surroundings.

The camp-site is situated at about 300 meters from the center of the picturesque village of Orcet. Orcet is situated at about 10 kilometers south of the city of Clermont-Ferrand.

Orcet is a little village with 2500 inhabitants. This mediaeval village has got some very old houses and narrow alleys. In former days there used to be a lot of wine-culture in this area and this wine was stocked beneath the houses in wine-cellars. For that reason there are still a lot of houses which possess a peculiar frontage. There are still some wine-growers left who sell their wine to tourists.

In Orcet within walking distance from the camp-site there are several shops, amongst them two bakeries, two hairdressers, a few bars, a restaurant, a grocery-shop, some wine-growers, a post-office and a pharmacy.

The camp-site is situated within two Nature Reserves, namely the "Parc des Volcans d'Auvergne" and the "Parc Naturel Regional Livradois Forez". The "Parc des Volcans", is the most famous due to the "Puy de Dome" known for the Tour de France. In this unique area with its almost 80 volcanoes, you will see craters, brooks, lakes, rivers and splendid views, Romanesque villages and many castles. This area is unique and you can take a lot of beautiful walks (± 600 miles of walks). It really is an Eldora do for the lovers of nature.

Our camp-site is practically new. The camp-site has been provided with all the facilities anyone could wish for, the sanitary blocks are warmed during cold days and winter. We can assure you that our camp-site is situated in a wonderful environment and lies at only 3 kilometers from the toll-free A-75 motorway Clermont-Ferrand – Montpellier.

Most of the activities are situated near the camp-site. Within 50 meters from the camp-site you will find a big playground for little children, two tennis-courts, a jeu-de-boule lane and a paddling-pool for children. A little bit further at a range of 500 meters from the camp-site, you will find a fishing-lake. There is also the possibility of canoeing as well as hang-gliding and parachute-jumping. At the camp-site itself you will find a play-ground, a swimming-pool and ping-pong tables. We also often arrange activities ourselves for our guests.

Our camp-site has 90 pitches which are situated on four different levels. All the pitches are flat, staked out and measure 100 M2 on average. Also they are all provided with an electricity-connection ( 5 or 10 amps) and many pitches even have a water and discharge connections There is also a facility to drain off or to fill up the water of your mobilehome. Animals are admitted on condition that they remain tethered on the camp-site, are not left unattended and are exercised off the camp-site.

Our sanitary facilities are new and comply with all modern requirements. They are divided into three separate blocks and are easy to reach. They always provided with warm water so that you can take a shower or do the dishes, or wash your laundry whenever you want. There are also two washing-machines which you can use at a reasonable price.

The whole camp-site is fenced and at night nicely illuminated. The managers of the camp-site, both Dutch and French, speak English which can be an advantage you should need a doctor and you are not able to speak French. Our camp-site has a bar where you can buy refreshments, ice-cream and candy. You can also buy snacks and eat them in the bar or the terrace. There is a possibility to buy groceries. Our range of groceries is small but you can buy almost everything in the village. In summer you can order bread for the next day and we also sell ice-cubes and Camping Gaz.

We can provide you with information about the surroundings of the camp-site. Therefore we have already provided guides in English for several nice trips by car or on foot. As you see this can be the beginning of an unforgettable holiday. We see it as our duty to make you feel comfortable during your holiday.
